Sui Builders now works on AWS Blockchain Node Runners
July 23, 2024 – Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Sui joins an exclusive list of blockchains integrated with AWS.
Sui Foundation, the organization dedicated to the development and adoption of the layer-one blockchain of the same name, today announced the integration of AWS (Amazon Web Service) blockchain node runners on Sui, providing developers with a self-managed node deployment solution.
With this integration, Sui developers will be able to easily configure and deploy full Sui nodes within the AWS environment, benefiting from the high availability, scalability, and reliability of AWS’s robust cloud infrastructure.
AWS Blockchain Node Runners simplify the process of running blockchain nodes, allowing users to easily deploy, scale, manage, and monitor secure blockchain nodes.
Starting today, Navi, a leading liquidity protocol, will be involved as a node runner to deploy full nodes on Sui.
Kathryn Van Nuys, global head of startups in specialty segments at AWS, said:
“AWS Blockchain Node Runner is designed to support developers at all stages of the application lifecycle, offering blueprints to meet specific requirements, from increased security and compliance to ease of deployment and monitoring.
“We are excited to offer these and other capabilities to enable developers to deploy and manage Sui nodes on the AWS Cloud.”
Node runners offer several key technical advantages for blockchain node deployment. It provides validated deployment models and best practices for scalable node operations across multiple geographies.
High availability is ensured through multi-node deployment options across multiple availability zones.
The distribution code is completely open source and available on GitHub, allowing users to review it before distribution.
Integrated with the well-designed AWS framework, node runners help organizations build secure, high-performance, resilient, and efficient node infrastructures.
Full nodes on Sui validate on-chain activities such as transactions, checkpoints, and epoch changes, as well as store stakes and history to better respond to customer requests.
By delegating the query service to the validator nodes, validators can focus on processing transactions and updating nodes when new transactions complete.
Navi, a leading liquidity company on Sui, is an early adopter of node runner engagement on Sui and has deployed its first node via the AWS service as of today.
As part of AWS and the Sui Foundation’s commitment to supporting Sui builders, developers, and startups using AWS blockchain node runners or developing on Sui, they may be eligible for up to $5,000 in “activated” credits.
The Sui Foundation has also joined the AWS Web 3.0 Provider program that provides access to tools, resources, content, and credits to Sui developers.
Henrik Johansson, Global Head of Community at Sui Foundation, said:
“The integration of AWS node runners on Sui marks a major advancement in the enhancement of blockchain infrastructure. Sui nodes are critical to the operation and accessibility of Sui.
“This integration with AWS not only provides developers with more tools to simplify node deployment, but also financial support to use and develop on AWS.”
