GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) – A Grand Island couple lost $18,000 after being tricked into converting some of their savings into bitcoin.
Police were called to a home in Grand Island on Thursday night and were told that an unidentified man posing as an Amazon employee tricked the couple into withdrawing money from their bank.
Police said the victim went to a local convenience store and converted $18,000 into bitcoin. The digital currency was then transferred to the unidentified man.
