Crurated Brings Blockchain-Protected Wine to Langosteria
Italian restaurant group Langosteria has signed a wine and spirits supply deal with Crurated, a British company specializing in the supply of premium bottles, protected by blockchain-based traceability technology to ensure authenticity of origin.
Crurated’s platform enables producer-to-consumer provenance and, according to Langosteria, “not only protects against wine counterfeiting and traces the bottle’s journey to preserve its quality, but also shares the authentic narrative of craftsmanship with the discerning connoisseur.”
Crurated was founded in London during the COVID-19 pandemic to deliver bottles of fine wine directly to collectors’ homes, secured by blockchain technology and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), later expanding into the spirits category.
The company collaborates with some of the world’s most renowned producers, organizing weekly wine selections to be bottled for its community of wine enthusiasts and collectors.
The latest agreement will also grant Crurated’s more than 5,000 members priority access to table reservations at Langosteria restaurants in Milan, Paris, Paraggi and St. Moritz, with new openings planned in London and Miami.
“Through our partnership with Crurated, we are able to offer our clientele additional, unparalleled access to some of the finest and rarest wines,” said Valentina Bertini, Corporate Wine Manager at Langosteria.
“The assurance of provenance and authenticity provided by Crurated’s blockchain technology aligns perfectly with our commitment to excellence and transparency, enhancing our guests’ dining experience.
Meanwhile, Curated CEO Alfonso de Gaetano said the deal “marks a new chapter” for the company, demonstrating that the platform can benefit “both producers and venues, ensuring that venues can demonstrate to their customers that every bottle, regardless of age, comes directly from the estate.”
