Brazil’s Central Bank Postpones Cryptocurrency Regulation to End of Year
On May 20, Brazil’s Central Bank announced that it will delay cryptocurrency regulation until the end of the year.
Last year, the central bank’s regulatory director, Otavio Damaso, said at a congressional hearing that he expected the regulation to be ready by June.
Now the central bank is taking a phased approach to regulation and will open a second public consultation, Reuters reported.
