Bitcoin 2024 Nashville Starts Today: What to Expect
Bitcoin 2024 Nashville is about to kick off, with industry attention focused on former President Donald Trump’s speech on Bitcoin and the entire cryptocurrency industry.
The Bitcoin Conference is just hours away from kicking off in Nashville, Tennessee, bringing together key figures from the cryptocurrency industry and high-profile politicians for a comprehensive look at the market.
Most attention is focused on the former president Donald Trumpthat should deliver a “historic message,” event organizer and BTC Inc. chief of staff Brandon Green told media. Despite the hype, the market appears unperturbedwith Polymarket punters skeptical that Trump will announce anything substantial.
What is clear is that the event will be a financial success for Trump, as Bitcoin Magazine CEO David Bailey has reportedly pledged to raise $15 million for the Republican presidential candidate during the conference.
Pro-crypto Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming is also expected to make major announcements, potentially revealing that she is working on new legislation that would require the Federal Reserve to hold Bitcoin (BTC) as a strategic reserve asset. Other speakers include independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., ARK founder Cathie Wood and former Microstrategy Chief Executive Michael Saylor, although the details of his speeches remain unclear.
As crypto.news previously reported, the conference will also feature controversial figures such as British comedian Russell Brand, who has faced multiple allegations of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior from several women. He faced a police investigation and was questioned by detectives. More on that in our deep dive here.
The day before yesterday, there was also speculation that the vice president and likely Democratic nominee Kamala Harris could attend the conference as well, but she reportedly declined after discussions with organizers. Trump is scheduled to speak at 2 p.m. CT (19:00 UTC) for 30 minutes on July 27, the last day of the conference.
