Aptos breaks records for most blockchain transactions per day
Aptos, a blockchain platform invented by former Facebook employees, has set a new record for the most daily transactions on any blockchain network.
On May 25, Aptos processed a surprisingly high total of 115.4 million transactions in a single day, while Solana only processed about 31.7 million.
On this particular occasion, Aptos surpassed its previous records, pushing the record for level 1 blockchains held by Sui Network beyond half. At peak performance, users were able to perform up to 32,000 tps (transactions per second).

The increase in activity is attributed to Tapos Cat, a newly launched tap-to-earn game that became wildly popular among users almost immediately. In fact, during its first day on the Aptos main network alone, this game brought approximately 10 million worth of transactions into the ecosystem.
Even with such a large number of transactions taking place at the same time, the commission rates remained low and the transaction success rate was still positive thanks to its innovative “Aggregator” technology that merged many individual payments together effectively.
Is Tapos Cat simply a trick to artificially boost Aptos metrics via taps? However, this is a significant test for scalability that shows how well Aptos would perform for other large-scale projects in the future.
